PHOTOGRAPHY: For All Levels

6 weeks
Fee $65.00
 

Understand the capabilities of your Digital SLR camera using manual mode. Have weekly assignments to better understand camera settings and functions and practice skills. Develop a refined eye for composition and lighting. Get inspired by bringing in your photographs to share, review and receive helpful critique.
Required: Digital SLR camera (one with removable lens) with instruction manual- any questions, email director@abingtonadultschool.org or call Adult School office.

Consider joining our fun and educational Watercolor class! Take a chance to express yourself with color. You can! Learn the basics to advanced techniques with personal attention given to all levels. You will enjoy and be amazed at what you can create with such a colorful medium. The instructor will contact students prior to the first class with a list of required materials.

Enjoy exploring the fundamentals of the acrylic paint medium and its unique application methods. Give yourself this time to begin learning about acrylics, or develop your experienced painting skills. Learn about various utensils, color theory, painting surfaces, and techniques. We’ll try abstract, landscape, still life, portraiture genres and more. The instructor will contact students prior to the first class with a list of required materials.

Create art when you thought it was impossible. Learn the basics to advanced techniques of drawing. Create landscapes, portraits, still life, wildlife or any subject of your choice. Have fun, relax and get inspired! All levels are welcome. The instructor will contact students prior to the first class with a list of required materials.

Printmaking/Mixed Media Collage CANCELLED

This class will introduce you to the basic techniques of printmaking. The unique quality of printmaking is creating textures using various tools such as combs, sticks, and found-objects. Your images can be realistic or non-representation (abstract elements such as shapes and lines). The class will focus on mono-printing, relief (lino-cuts) and intaglio (drypoint) processes. We will explore the limitless ways in which you can combine materials to create beautiful prints Printing inks, tools and printmaking paper will be provided through the cost of the material fee. No experience is required! Material Fee due with registration: $15.00

Learn woodcarving! Course teaches marking, detailing, wood/tool selection and different types of carving such as relief and in the round. Wood burning discussed. Learn the basics. Material fee first night $5. Please bring your own carving knife and carving glove -

Demonstrations in hand-building techniques, wheel throwing, decorating, glazing. Beginners to more experienced. Individual needs met.
Materials Fee: $35 due the first night of class.
Class size limited.
