Fee $65.00
 

Understand the capabilities of your Digital SLR camera using manual mode. Have weekly assignments to better understand camera settings and functions and practice skills. Develop a refined eye for composition and lighting. Get inspired by bringing in your photographs to share, review and receive helpful critique.
Required: Digital SLR camera (one with removable lens) with instruction manual- any questions, email director@abingtonadultschool.org or call Adult School office.

Consider joining our fun and educational Watercolor class! Take a chance to express yourself with color. You can! Learn the basics to advanced techniques with personal attention given to all levels. Enjoy exploring the fundamentals of painting with acrylic and the exciting processes of application methods that are unique to this medium. This class is for beginner through advanced level painters or hobbyists who are interested in improving skills or learning about various utensils, painting surfaces, and techniques. Create art when you thought it was impossible. Learn the basics to advanced techniques of drawing. Create landscapes, portraits, still life, wildlife or any subject of your choice. Have fun, relax and get inspired! All levels are welcome. The instructor will contact students prior to the first class with a list of required materials.

Learn the basics of sewing—straight lines and curved lines, pivoting, measuring, grain lines, and more, along with using a simple pattern from start to finish. Learn the terminology and tools of the trade. The first project will be a drawstring bag that you can use for class and then a project of your choosing that uses a simple pattern. You will need to bring YOUR OWN machine, thread and tools each week. You will be contacted prior to the first class with a list of necessary materials. Sew, let’s have fun!

A Tote of Many Colors - NEW!

Some sewing experience or prerequisite “Basic Sewing” necessary. We’ll be making one-of-kind tote bags (everybody can use one!) with several different fabrics for the inside, outside, pockets and straps. And no seams to finish! You will be contacted before the first class with a materials list. You will also have the option of picking all the needed fabrics from my stash for $10, if you prefer. Once you know the basics of this bag, you can make changes to create your own design. You will need to bring YOUR OWN machine, thread and tools. Sew much fun!

Learn floral design techniques while creating a beautiful fall arrangement for each person to take home. The instructor will provide all materials including flowers, greens and vases/containers. Participants bring their own floral shears (or a good pair of kitchen scissors are fine) to use and a box to take their creation home. Material fee due with registration: $12.00

Come join us for a night of fun and make an authentic Williamsburg Arch. Made with artificial greens, magnolia leaves, fruit, nuts, dried flowers, ribbon, etc. Bring shears, scissors, newspaper, glue sticks, and glue gun. Material fee of $32.00 due with registration.

Create a festive and beautiful centerpiece to last you through the holidays. Made with fresh greens, silk poinsettias, candle, red velvet ribbons, assorted Christmas trim, and pine cones. Bring a wire cutter, glue gun, glue sticks, scissors, and newspaper. Material fee of $25.00 due with registration.

  Would you like to learn how to quilt? This is the class for you. You will learn the basics of HAND piecing and HAND quilting and have finished a small quilt by the end of the class. Instructor will customize the class to fit your abilities. All materials needed will be discussed at the first class.
